Hello Rainy Season: Studio Portraits for Any Weather Forecast
Welcome to the Oasis of the Humble Indoors
As I look out my window and it’s dark and raining I can't help but get excited for a change of pace and staying in more often. A few years ago the shift in the weather would mean that my calendar would shrink and my availability was at the mercy of wet and cold weather.
But I am no longer that fair weather photographer and I am so happy to be able to offer studio portraits to my clients today.
If you’re still thinking - "What about those outdoor landscapes I had in mind?" Don't worry! Getting outside isn’t completely off the table through the Fall or Winter. Those outdoor photo days just take some extra care and flexibility for both myself and for you.
For those who want to stay warm and dry and can’t wait for the next Summer for photos, booking a session in a studio location is the way to go. Let me tell you why my studio portraits could be the highlight of your rainy season.
Why You'll Love Studio Sessions
It’s always a good idea to have a plan b or plan c when making arrangements. If you’re like me though, being able to stick with plan A is truly the best feeling. While a studio session doesn’t guarantee things outside of our control to happen, the chances are much higher than having portraits done outside on location.
Perfect lighting, every time: No more worrying about cloudy skies or harsh shadows. I've got complete control over the lighting, ensuring you look your absolute best in every shot. My lighting technique allows me execute the same style regardless if it is pitch black outside or clear and sunny. You’ll have your pick of bright flash as pictured in the photo with pink above, or soft natural looking light as pictured in the black and white photo here.
Rain or shine, we're good to go: Forget about checking your weather app or rescheduling at the last minute. Once we set a date, we’re all set. How's that for peace of mind?
Your choice in style: I have a number of backdrops for you to choose from, all you have to do is pick. Being able to control the environment will also give you more confidence in the final result. Landscapes on the other hand can vary in appearance depending on the time of day, weather and season.
Comfort is key: No need to worry about wind-blown hair or rain-soaked clothes. You'll be comfortable and relaxed, allowing your personality to be the focus.
Easy wardrobe changes: It’s not comfortable changing outfits in a park restroom or car. Having a clean and secure place to change may impact your overall experience comparatively.
