4 Outfit Ideas for Senior Photos
Choosing what to wear for your photos is overwhelming for everyone and seniors are no exception. Here are four outfit ideas to make your decision making a little easier.
T-Shirt and Jeans
In the ever-evolving world of fashion, some combinations withstand the test of time, and none more so than the classic pairing of jeans and a T-shirt. This simple yet timeless ensemble has transcended generations, making it a staple in wardrobes.
While the T-shirt and jeans combo may seem like a restricting choice, it serves as a blank canvas for personalization and self-expression. From choosing the perfect fit and wash of denim to selecting T-shirt neckline, this classic combo allows you to infuse your unique style into the outfit. Customization through accessories, such as belts, sneakers, or statement jewelry, further elevates the look, showcasing your personality in a subtle yet impactful way.
Your Favorite Dress
When you feel confident, you look confident. So if you have a go-to dress —it definitely needs to be in your outfit lineup for your session.
If you feel stuck between a few dresses I recommend choosing whichever is the best of style and comfort, especially for outdoor shoots, and to make sure the dress allows for easy movement.
The examples pictured above are fairly casual but know glamorous and luxurious dresses are not only welcome but encouraged. Just be you!
Shirt with a Collar
If you're looking for a middle ground between casual and formal, a shirt with a collar is the way to go. This option allows you to maintain a polished look while incorporating a touch of casual comfort. I recommend going with either a solid color or a subtle pattern. Pair it with tailored trousers or your favorite jeans for a well-balanced ensemble. This is a versatile choice that works well for both in studio and outdoor sessions.
Statement Outfit
Make a bold statement with an outfit that truly reflects your personality. This could be a unique dress, a stylish suit, or an outfit that features vibrant colors and patterns. The key is to choose something that feels authentic to you and showcases your individuality. See my Pinterest board here for this fourth and final outfit idea.
Ask me for Help

One Weekend in Advance Rule
Sometimes the best thing is to make a plan one weekend ahead of your session. That way if you change your mind or you’re not totally happy with your outfit lineup you will have time to make a trip to a local store or in time for expedite shipping to save the day. I say rule, but more like guideline.
